Spring is the best timeI think the best time to do long fasting is in spring. The nature is waking up and simply it just fell natural to do a big cleansing of the body. Thought it is OK if you do it any other time! I know people who have done it almost any time in the year, also in winter. I personally don't like to fast during the winter because of the cold.
But if you want to make only a 1,2 or 3 days of fasting, you can do it any time. In fact I used to make one day fast every week (usually on the day of the moon phase) some years ago. I think that after this fast I shall continue with the practise of fasting one day in a week. This is excellent practice to clean the body regularly not to mention it's ideal for keeping the weight. :-) Fasting is a great way to detox a body and can be a very beneficial to us if done properly. It starts with proper preparation and most importantly it must be finish very carefully.
A week before the fast I start to prepare my body:

Big cleansing of the liverIf you can try to do a famous liver cleansing with oil, lemons and magnesium sulfate. Liver is doing big work while fasting, so it is good if you clean them first and prepare them for the big work.
I am aware some people have concers about this particular process, but I don't. :-) I have done this many times before, more than 10 times in past years, so I know a think or two about it. |
The 10 commandments for fasting
It's important to follow some rules while fasting. I call them 10 commandments. :-) They are based upon my experiences.
- prepare your body and mind well BEFORE the start
- make lots of fruit and vegetable juices
- drink a lot of water
- drink water with chlorella
- make enema twice a day
- scrape your tongue, take care of your skin
- go for a walk, ride a bike, be physically active; your heart needs to work also
- take plenty of sleep
- read inspirational stories about fasting or any other kind that sets your spirit high
- most important: when you stop fasting start to eat regular food very slowly!!!!
END OF FAST - Start to eat regular food VERY SLOWLY
Actually this is the most important thing when fasting. You can get in trouble and stomach pain if you start to eat too much food or wrong type of food at once. This is how I ended my 10 days fast.
Day 1 after
After the morning procedure (I made enema 4 times in a row, because this will be my last enema) I start with unstrained juice from oranges and carrots. :-) Around 1 p.m. I ate the juicy apple you see in the photo above. Of course this apple was way too big - I ate it only half of it and I chew it very slowly and very carefully.
Around 4 p.m. I ate two soaked plums. And until the evening 4 times half of banana in half an hour break. As a result I had no troubles, no pain in stomach! Huray! Why was the first food an apple? You know: apples always make big difference. For instance first apple eaten by Adam and Eva, then the apple from Newton and then the Apple from Jobs. :-) |
